Missing! One Mr. Muse!

Damn the man! He’s never around when I want him. Typical really, he is male after all. :(

But don’t worry I haven’t been idle while he’s gone, nope, I’ve been procrastinating up a storm. Check out the new cover images down the right hand side of the blog. Each image links straight to the publishers book page and I’m pretty damn impressed I didn’t blow anything up while getting those beauties loaded. :) I’ve also added my latest release to the welcome page of the website to make it easier for you all to find. Plus I’ve added release dates to all my book pages so you can work out what’s what. I don’t know about you, but I like to know when a book was released so I can be sure I haven’t missed any of my favorite authors work and I don’t double up if a book has been repackaged.

So while I’m doing some redecorating is there anything you like or don’t like to see on an authors website? Any and all suggestions welcome. And while you’ve all got those thinking caps on give some thought to what you’d like to see from me next. I think that might be Mr. Muse’s problem. We just can’t decide what wip to work on.

P.S. Don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter, I’ll be putting that together tomorrow.

The ‘what’s going on’ post.

Wow. I can’t seem to hold on to the days lately. It seems no sooner have I crawled out of bed than I’m crawling back in again and I’m not one of the heroines in my books so I’m not getting lucky. :(

I’m finding it hard to get back into the groove after my fan-damn-tastic trip to the US with Mr.C. We bounced from one side of the US to the other and managed to meet some great people and get some great pictures. Hopefully I’ll get some blog posts up about it soon. The highlight of the trip for me was having Mr.C all to myself for over two weeks. As much as I love our tribe and would have gladly taken them with us if it were possible, I still really enjoyed it just being me and Mr.C. Guess this is what we’ve got to look forward to in the future once they’ve all left home. Not that they’re doing that with much haste. ;)

The last two months have been busy for me writing wise but not in the ‘sit down and write’ kind of way. I’ve had three releases since August 26, two digital and one print, plus my next scheduled release, Truth Or Dare, is up for pre-order on Amazon. I’m planning to do up a newsletter later this week and I’ll include all the info on that but you can always find the info here on my website. Check the books and coming soon pages. Speaking of websites, I’m doing a little tweaking and as I’m seriously inept at anything technology related it may take me a while to get it the way I want. :) I’m trying some new ideas and doing a general tidy-up of the whole place but I promise not to blow anything up. Okay, I’ll try not to blow anything up. :)

Right now I need to sit Mr. Muse down and get some words done. *looks over shoulder* Now where did he go……

Sunday in….the madhouse!

I’ve said it a number of times but my life really does get crazy on occasion. This weekend has proven to be one of those times. Honestly I don’t think I’ve had time to breath once. I definitely haven’t relaxed. Mr.C came home Saturday morning delivering a suitcase load of washing to add to the huge pile I’d neglected the few days before. I managed to get some work done around the housework and general chaos that the house turns into whenever I dive into the edit/writing cave but then it was time to get ready to go out for dinner to a 60th. I think we dragged ourselves home at about midnight. Then it was back up again to do another round of washing, general house tidy and head on out to the in-laws to celebrate Mr.C’s birthday as he’d been out of the country when it actually took place. After hours of good food and good fun we raced home to get stuck into the next batch of washing/tidying/cleaning/organizing so that the coming week isn’t smothered under an avalanche of chaos. And let’s not mention that it’s 6 days until I’m boarding a plane for the US. Or that it’s 8 days until All Of You releases and I’ve done nothing in preparation of its arrival. *sigh* Yep, madhouse.

The one highlight of my weekend other than Mr.C’s return was this:-

Oh my yes. That does make the madness all worth it. :)

Time Warp

I’m in one. Or a black hole. Or a dark cave. Or……you get the picture. It’s the 14th of September here and what I wanna know is where the hell did July go? WTF? Seriously, I’m not sure if I’m coming (not the good kind) or going right now. I do know that in ten days I’ll be going. OMG! In TEN DAYS I’ll be flying with Mr.C to LA where we’ll spend a day before heading to Louisville, then on to Akron, over to Washington DC, down to Aiken, SC and finally back to LA and home again.

TEN DAYS!!!!

Jeez, when the hell did it get so close? And what the hell should I pack besides the ereaders and laptop? What’s the weather like? Will I need warm clothes or can I get excited and expect a little heat? *crosses fingers for warm weather* While in the US I’ll be attending RomantiCon. I can’t wait to go. I’ll get to hang with my CP, Mari Carr as well as a number of other author friends like Nicole Austin. I saw Mari in April at RT but I haven’t seen Nic since RT ’09. I can’t wait to squeeze that girl. :) Mr.C is looking forward to meeting some more of my author friends, he’s had the pleasure of hanging with Mari before so he knows what he’s in for there. ;)

TEN DAYS!!!!

I have so much to do in those ten days. Write, promo (All Of You releases Sept.26), write, schedule some blogs to post while I’m gone, write, chew nails over a submission that’s sitting on my editors desk, write, pack……oh dear, I’m exhausted just typing that out.

Speaking of promo and releases. I’ve blogged in two different places this week with snippets of All Of You. Head over to Passionate Reads HERE! for the first one. And head over to the International Heat blog HERE! for the Red Hot Premiere month. The IH authors are certainly heating things up this month. Check out all the latest releases and leave comments to be entered in the draw for prizes, the final one being a Kindle. :)

Okay, no more wasting time for me. Back to it.

Sunday in….happy dancing mode.

It’s a special Sunday in… this week. You see with Coyote Whispers releasing last Friday I was online checking Amazon to see if it had gone up there yet. Yeah, yeah, wishful thinking I know but still, it’s what us authors do. Now last week you’ll remember I was in the writing cave so I hadn’t ‘been’ anywhere so you can imagine my surprise when this book Coyote Hunger popped up under my search for new Ellora’s Cave titles. You can also imagine the squeal that I emitted when I noticed my name under it! OMG! I’ve been wishing and hoping and just about willing to sacrifice The Kid for the coyotes to go into print and there they were! Coyote Hunger is the print release of Coyote Run, Coyote Home & Coyote Wild and the cover is gorgeous. For some reason there’s no cover image on Amazon but there is over at Barnes & Noble which is where I bought my copy from. What? You don’t think we buy our own books? Hell, I buy every one of them just so I’m assured of one sale. LOL

Seriously, is that not the most gorgeous cover? Right now you can get it at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. In a few weeks it will release on the Ellora’s Cave site too. I was on my Author page on Facebook earlier when the lovely Mai informed me she’d ordered her copy last week! That will teach me to hide out in the writing cave. :)  Of course I ordered my copy yesterday but it’ll take at least a week to get to me. :(  Mai will get her’s first. *cries* Oh well, at least I know I’m not the only one that will buy it. LMAO  Thank you to Mai for making my weekend. And thank you to all the readers who take the time to either tweet, facebook or email me about my stories. I love hearing from you. It puts a smile on my face and reminds me why all the hair pulling and fighting to get the words right is worth it.

Now let’s just sit back with a drink and enjoy that beautiful cover…….

Coyote Whispers has a release date!

Coyote Whispers will release on August 26th! That’s in two weeks! I can’t wait! You can see the coming soon page HERE!

Book three in the Coyote Hunger series.

Gordie has tried to keep Steve McKenna at arm’s length, but the sexy coyote shifter is under her skin, in her blood and in her heart. No matter how much she fears what he makes her feel, she can’t bear to stay away. After he rescues her from a vicious attack, Gordie is helpless to deny the sizzling attraction burning between them.

There hasn’t been a day Steve has not wanted Doc in his bed, but bruised and bloody is not what he had in mind. The need for revenge is riding his coyote—almost as much as his aching desire to finally claim Doc as his own. But that will have to wait. He must first convince Doc the safest place for her is by his side. When a second attack draws them together, suppressed needs explode, leaving no doubt where they both belong.

But danger is never far behind and Gordie is forced to make a fatal decision that could destroy all they’ve worked so hard to discover.

Writing, editing and cover art.

This week has been all over the place for me. First I’m not sleeping well AT ALL!  Which of course means I’m running on empty. Surprising though, I’ve managed to get quite a bit of work done. I worked on Spin The Bottle but had to put that aside for Coyote Whispers edits. Still on those but while I was hiding out in the edits cave I got the cover art. And I have to say that Syneca at Ellora’s Cave is a genius! GENIUS!!

So what do you think? I love it. The colors are gorgeous and I love the mountain lake scene so much I want to go hiking to see if I can find that view and coming from someone that barely tolerates the walk to the bathroom most days that’s saying something. I’ll be done with edits today so fingers crossed it won’t be long before I get a release date.

And now, just because I can. *grin*

Rhian

What a week.

I have no idea how I top last week but damn I’d like to try. In case you missed it, and really, what rock are you living under if you did ;) I signed two new contracts! One for the third Coyote Hunger book, Coyote Whispers. This one is Steve and Doc’s story and ended up take far more words than I imagined to tell. The second contract is for All Of You. It’s a hot contemporary with a younger man older woman theme and I’m planning to write at least one sequel possible two. I’m excited to be having a release at Noble Romance again. I loved working with them before so I can’t wait to dive in this time.

I’ve updated the coming soon page with the blurbs for both books so you can get some more details there and as soon as I know release dates I’ll share. At this point we’re looking at a possible early September release for All Of You and I know my EC editor works like speed-demon so it’s possible Coyote Whispers could be out in the next few months too. Again, I’ll update the coming soon page with details as I get them.

And don’t forget the Passionate Reads Sizzling Summer Contest is still going and the major prize is a Kindle. CLICK HERE for details on how to enter.

Okay, enough with the ‘back-end’ work of writing, time to write! Who’s turn is it to spin? :)

Coyote Whispers has been accepted!

In case you missed the happy dancing all over twitter and facebook yesterday…..

My EC editor has accepted Coyote Whispers! I’m so happy. Steve and Doc took longer than I ever thought they would and ran over by about 12,000 words on what I had planned. Damn characters wanting it their way. *grin* I should be nice and share a snippet. Unedited of course. lol

****

He wrenched her free and tossed the shirt over his shoulder. In a second he rolled her under him, slipped his knee between hers and spread her legs wide. His thighs brushed hers, the rough hair tickling her soft skin. Gordie lifted her pelvis to bring her sex in direct contact with his shaft. Hot and hard, the silky length slid along her slick folds, bumping her pulsing clit. She cried out and he covered her mouth with his hand.

“Shh. They’ll hear you.”

Gordie sucked her lips between her teeth, bit down to hold them in place and nodded. Steve removed his hand and gripped her chin.

“I want to hear you scream. Want to hear my name on your lips when I make you come but I don’t want anyone else hearing that cry of pleasure. That’s mine and mine alone.”

Steve didn’t give her a chance to answer. His mouth covered hers in a punishing kiss meant to claim. He flexed his hips and brought his cock to her opening. Pressing forward he entered her, breaching her body slowly. She wanted more—all of him. Gordie thrust up and drove his shaft deeper, wrenching a moan from each of them. They moved together, built a rhythm of give and take that quickly grew in speed and strength.

She gnawed on her lips, held them tight between her teeth to muffle the cries of pleasure she couldn’t control. Steve’s hands circled her hips, his fingers spread over her ass cheeks. He held her still, pinned to the bed, and drove in hard, his length dragging over her swollen clit with every stroke. Her head tossed on the pillow and her nails dug into his shoulders as her orgasm built inside her, tightening with each plunge, every retreat of his cock.

“Please.” Gordie hooked her legs over his hips. “Steve.”

Her words spurred him on. He pounded into her, pushed them both to the edge as their bodies slammed together—strived for release.

“Touch yourself.” His hoarse demand sent a bolt of fire into her core. “Do it.”

Gordie slipped her hand between them, her fingers searching for the spot that would bring her relief. She encountered wet heat and probed further. Cream coated her fingertips as she circled them over her clit, applied a little pressure and brought herself closer to the peak.

Steve leaned on his elbows and lifted up to look at where their bodies were joined. “God that’s so hot. Watching you get yourself off is a huge turn on, Doc.”

He pulled back and Gordie reached lower to graze her fingernails along his length as he withdrew.

“Fuck!” He slammed forward, trapping her hand between them. “Do that again,” he growled.

She twisted her hand slightly, used her fingers on his cock and her thumb on her clit, and drove them both insane. Steve jerked, his rhythm erratic for a couple of strokes before he returned to the beat, this time faster. Harder. The first contraction rolled into the second and onto the third, her whole body flowing with the waves of her orgasm as they took her under and dragged him with her.

“Steve.”
