Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Not even crickets.

What! The! F*ck!

Where the hell have I been?

It’s three weeks since the last BBB episode and I have no idea why.

And no idea I’d missed posting until right now!!!

The only excuse or reason I have is that I’ve been wrapped up in getting Fallout ready for release.

I’d forgotten how intense it is to finalize a book. There’s edits, then final reads, then beta/last eyes reads, then formatting, then uploading, then promo planning then…

You get the idea. The upshot is Fallout is ready! It’s up for pre-order! It’s going out to advanced readers next week! (eep!!)

It’s been exhausting and exciting and OMG is it really happening!

After over a year of not releasing I feel like I’m starting from scratch and every time I move from one step to the next I panic I’m getting it wrong. At this point I’m throwing my hands in the air and calling it.

If something screws up it’s not because I haven’t checked and double checked until my eyes are crossed.

I don’t remember being this….particular? paranoid? (either word works 😆 ) with a release before. Maybe it’s because I’m out of practice. Or maybe it’s the fact the heroine of Fallout had breast cancer.

I’ve talked about it before, how I struggled to get back into this book after my own battle with breast cancer. I know I pulled some punches on this one. Well, I pulled them in that I couldn’t bring to life the scenes I’d had in my head before my own diagnosis. I don’t think the story is lacking in any way as it is and I’m more than happy with how it turned out but I’m also a little disappointed that I wasn’t in the right head space to writing those scenes. But if I’m honest, I’m still not in the right place to write them and I don’t think I ever will be (well, not in the foreseeable future anyway) so that makes me feel a little better.

Other than being consumed with details for Fallout‘s release I’ve been preparing and packing to go visit the tribe!

That’s right. We’re two days from getting on a plane!

And the best news of all is we no longer have to do covid tests before we fly!!!

Woot!

My sinuses still having recovered from our Christmas trip and I was dreading having to shove those things up my nose again but now I don’t have to!!!

We’ve got a house booked big enough for all 17 of us. Yes, there are now 17 of us!!! The adults are almost out numbered! Crazy to think this time 6 years ago we had no Gbabies and now we have 7 with 8 cooking!

Mr.C and I have suitcases filled with games and toys and coloring in books ready for a week of fun with the Gbabies. (Don’t worry, we’ve got alcohol for the adults 😛 )

This time next week we’ll be at the holiday house so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post or not, I’ll try, if I can’t episode 30 (OMG! how are we at 30?!) will be a day late.
