We all love books, right? That’s why you’re here, yes? 🙂

So let’s talk books.

What’s your favorite genre?

Mine is romance, it’s a toss up as to which of the sub genres is my favorite though. I love romantic suspense, paranormal romance, erotic romance, and contemporary romance in general.

What’s your favorite format? Do you read digital or print?

I’m mainly a digital reader now but I still love getting a new print book and holding it in my hands. I’ll confess to being a book sniffer too. There’s no greater smell to me than that of a new book.

What about length? And no, I’m not talking about THAT length! Story length! Are you a lover of novellas or novels? Do you prefer one over the other or do you read both?

I’m a anything goes kind of reader. If the story appeals I’m in. I might get a little disappointed if I don’t want to let go of the world the author has built but as long as the story is complete I don’t care how long the book is.

What are your hard no-nos? Is there a genre or a theme or trope or action a character does that you can’t read?

I can’t handle cheating. I’m out at that point. I’ve only been caught unaware a couple of times but when I have those books have fallen into the DNF pile. I’m also not into ‘dark’ romance or really angsty books. Particularly teenage-ish angst. I mean, sure, there can be conflict, there SHOULD be conflict but I’m not into the ‘drama’ that seems to go with a lot of NA (new adult) romance. I guess I’m a light and fluffy reader. Then again I read paranormal and a lot of that is full of drama. I guess that’s drama of a different sort though.

What have you read you would recommend? What did you read last month? How many books did you read?

I’m a fast reader. Like super fast and if I’ve got time I’ve been know to start and finish a book in one go. Okay, so I do that a lot. 🙂 But honestly, the more I enjoy a book the quicker I read it. It’s a curse and a super power. Curse because HELLO! book budget! A super power because ALL THE BOOKS!!!! We were on holiday for two weeks so I didn’t get that many books read in June. Of the once I did read the top would have to be ABOUT THAT KISS by Jill Shalvis. And yes, I know I’m behind on the Heartbreaker Bay books. I usually devour them the second they release but for some reason this one remained unread until now. If you’re not familiar with Jill Shalvis she writes romantic comedy. I’ve never read one of her books where I haven’t laughed out loud and drawn strange looks. So if that’s your jam and you’ve not read her go pick up any of her titles. I promise she’s good. 😉

P.S. Do you use Goodreads to keep track of your books? I do. You can follow me, like me, check out my books or see what I’m reading here – https://www.goodreads.com/rhian_cahill

Who’s on your keeper shelf?

These are my keeper shelves. I’ve got almost every Nora Roberts book published as well as many many more. And this is after I gave away about half of my print books to move to Singapore two years ago!

So tell me, what do you read? Hit me up with some favorite titles or authors.
