One thing about Singapore that blows my mind is the number of (what I would consider) luxury cars. The other thing is it costs soooo…… much money to get a vehicle here that the cost of these cars is….well, it’s ridiculous! and beyond the average person’s means.
The first pic shows two cars you can hire to take for a spin. They sit outside the Marina Bay Sands hotel and we often hear them racing down the ECP (which is the road in front of our building) in the middle of the night.
The next two pix were taken while we were out and about. The orange car we spotted from the bus last week and the black one ‘lives’ in a street behind our condo complex. It’s not unusual to see cars this expensive parked outside houses while on a walk.
Then there’s these two. They’re in our condo and you’d think the price difference would be huge but in reality it’s probably not because ANY vehicle over ten years old has to have a special license to be on the road and in spite of the bad pic the bug is in mint condition!
The cost of owning a car here is one of the reasons Mr.C and I don’t have one but also because parking is expensive and getting from place to place by taxi or public transport is easy-peasy and way way WAY cheaper! Which means more money for other stuff. Like books!
