This past week had a two day holiday so from Saturday last weekend to Sunday this weekend we had THREE weekends!
That’s six days out of nine OFF! And because of that we decided to do some ‘sightseeing’ around Singapore.
First up (last Saturday night) was Arab Street. Great food, great atmosphere and a great time spent with friends. I even found a local crafters fair and bought myself a pressie. ๐ A cute R keyring made of resin with dried flowers inside.
Then Tuesday night we hit our local hawker center for some great food. Unfortunately not all our favorite hawkers were open but we still managed to stuff our faces.
Wednesday we headed to Fort Canning, a local historic landmark/park. Unfortunately neither Mr.C or I took more than one pic. (The selfie of the two of us with the water garden behind) Considering I did my weekly average in steps in one day I’d say the lack of picture taking was because I was too out of breath to think about it never mind do it! ๐ I did take a couple of pix down by Clark Quay which is where we ended up for a late-ish lunch.
And finally yesterday we went to Chinatown to check out the New Year decorations. And again, we took hardly any pix. WTF?! is wrong with us? I guess we were having too good a time. I did take some of the fantastic restaurant we found in one of the side streets new Chinatown and then the Japanese restaurant/bar in the middle of Chinatown we finished the night in.
(Bet you looked at those pix and thought WTF? Those plates are empty! I’m sorry but the food was too good to wait for me to take a pic but I think those empty plates speak for themselves.)
It’s been a busy time and I think it’s the most we’ve been out and about in Singapore in a really long time. Mostly due to Covid restrictions but as those lift we’re venturing out more and after the dark few weeks I’ve had these trips have been a welcome change from staring at my bedroom walls.
